ICYMI: Consumers speak up about health care costs at September 4 hearing
Last week, the Connecticut Insurance Department held a rate review hearing for individual and small group health plans sold on Access Health CT. The public comment period told the story of how everyday people are challenged by the cost of health insurance.
We were at the hearing to speak up for those everyday people, including Sarah, Hank and Jessica – three people whose stories we recorded during the fight for the public option earlier this year. These stories highlight the struggles with the high cost of coverage on the small group and individual market.
What are the results of the rate review process? Regulators said decisions should be issued by the end of September. We will keep you updated!
